Shades of Blue
Blue happens to be my favorite color so I’m naturally drawn to it when picking out my clothes. For this outfit I stuck with blue but used different shades so it wouldn’t look too repetitive. The distressing and wash of the denim jacket, paired with the lighter patterned shirt, and the darker solid chinos help create enough of a variation to break up the blue and keep things interesting. And of course, the pop of color here comes from the green Vans!

WIW Last Weekend: Anthony
Remember when you were little and your mom would tell you to tuck in your shirt because you looked sloppy? Well as it turns out she was right….well sometimes. Wore this on Mother’s Day this past weekend and was surprised at the difference a tucked in shirt could make. In fact, it makes ALL the difference in taking this simple outfit from casual to a bit more dressy. Though it might not work for every outfit, it’s an easy way to upgrade your outfit to looking more sophisticated and mom-approved. Lesson learned, mom. And don’t forget to wear a nice belt with your outfit guys!

Wedding Weekend: Anthony
If you saw Dustin’s wedding outfit post from yesterday, you’ll notice that we both wore navy suits. Since we both wore the same color suit, we obviously wanted to make our outfits look different and stand out from one another. For Anthony’s outfit, we did a pale yellow floral print shirt which compliments the yellow in Dustin’s shirt. Not gonna lie, we had a hard time finding the right color tie to wear with the shirt. We chose the pink bow tie to play up some of the pink in the print of the shirt and then paired it with some light pink socks to tie the whole color scheme together. This is a good tip when chosing a tie to pair with a patterned/multicolored shirt:
Choose one accent color in the shirt and then wear a tie in a similar shade. Then use socks or a pocket square to really bring that color into the rest of the outfit.
Sidenote: The suit is by Joe Fresh and was a new purchase. It’s an unstructured blazer in a stretchy cotton fabric so it was super comfy and easy to move (read: dance like cray) in. It’s not the most formal material for a wedding but it works well since it’s appropriate for the season and the shirt, tie, and shoes help to dress it up a bit more.

The Dressed Down Blazer
A great way to dress down a blazer this spring is to wear it with a t-shirt. It’ll give you a casual look that’s still put together and also let your neck breathe a little. Try a striped tee like the one Anthony’s wearing here with a navy blazer for a nautical inspired look. Scoop neck tees and henley tees also look great under a casual sport jacket. Want to dress it down more? Try a blazer in a cotton jersey material similar to Anthony’s instead of your traditional wool. Just throw it on and no need to worry about getting it wrinkled while you’re out having fun.
