Shades of Blue

Blue happens to be my favorite color so I’m naturally drawn to it when picking out my clothes. For this outfit I stuck with blue but used different shades so it wouldn’t look too repetitive. The distressing and wash of the denim jacket, paired with the lighter patterned shirt, and the darker solid chinos help create enough of a variation to break up the blue and keep things interesting. And of course, the pop of color here comes from the green Vans!

The Dressed Down Blazer A great way to dress down a blazer this spring is to wear it with a t-shirt. It’ll give you a casual look that’s still put together and also let your neck breathe a little. Try a striped tee like the one Anthony’s wearing here with a navy blazer for a nautical inspired look. Scoop neck tees and henley tees also look great under a casual sport jacket. Want to dress it down more? Try a blazer in a cotton jersey material similar to Anthony’s instead of your traditional wool. Just throw it on and no need to worry about getting it wrinkled while you’re out having fun. Cut off denim shorts are great. Most of the time we’re not always dressed up so these are a perfect option for summer relaxing. Just make sure they fit right - too tight or too short and they can start to look…too feminine.

If you don’t have a pair yet, pick up one of these options to get you started.

WIWT: Friday Morning It’s nice to not already be running late for work and just have that extra time to go about my morning routine at a normal pace - something that doesn’t happen often. Here’s my casual Friday look - well the clothes at least. That look on my face, I dont even know what that is. Ehh. Only 8 more hours til the weekend. Also, thanks to Dustin for my Friday morning butter toffee coffee (which was practically empty by the time he took the photo). I mean who needs a Keurig when you have someone to make your coffee for you? =P Ahh life’s simple pleasures… PS - Dustin would’ve posted his WIWT too but he wasn’t even dressed yet because he now gets to go into work 2 hours later every day. Was there haterade in my coffee? Because I’m just a tiny bit jealous… Follow on Instagram
