Shades of Blue
Blue happens to be my favorite color so I’m naturally drawn to it when picking out my clothes. For this outfit I stuck with blue but used different shades so it wouldn’t look too repetitive. The distressing and wash of the denim jacket, paired with the lighter patterned shirt, and the darker solid chinos help create enough of a variation to break up the blue and keep things interesting. And of course, the pop of color here comes from the green Vans!
Happy Monday everyone, and hope you’re all staying dry in Jersey City/NYC!

The Spring Cardigan
Just because the weather is getting warmer, doesn’t mean you need to ditch ALL your layers. In fact, you should still leave out some light outerwear for those brisk mornings or chilly nights. A lightweight cardigan is the perfect spring layering option to have on hand. Try finding one that’s striped for that nautical look, or a bright colored one so it still looks seasonally appropriate. Tie it around your neck, just kidding….toss it in your bag during the day and then pull it out when the sun goes down and the weather starts to cool. Very easily paired with some colored chinos and a simple tee for a casual everday look.

WIW Last Weekend: Anthony
Remember when you were little and your mom would tell you to tuck in your shirt because you looked sloppy? Well as it turns out she was right….well sometimes. Wore this on Mother’s Day this past weekend and was surprised at the difference a tucked in shirt could make. In fact, it makes ALL the difference in taking this simple outfit from casual to a bit more dressy. Though it might not work for every outfit, it’s an easy way to upgrade your outfit to looking more sophisticated and mom-approved. Lesson learned, mom. And don’t forget to wear a nice belt with your outfit guys!

Light Wash Denim
It’s spring time (in most parts anyway) which means it’s time to give your go-to dark denim jeans a break here and there and try a lighter wash of denim. You’re wearing brighter colors and your skin’s getting some sun, so why not do the same with your jeans? A nice sun faded or bleached denim is a great look for this season and is pretty easy to pull off. The shade will vary but most pairs will fall into the pale blue category, so pair them with darker neutral solids for a nice contrast or do what we did here and go for muted stripes with a pop of color for the shoe.
